Anna Weidle is an art photographer based in Germany. Born in Moldova in 1972, she has been living and working in Germany since 2003.
Her photographic practice explores identity, transformation, memory and the relationship between the individual and the world around us. She is particularly interested in moments of transition — both personal and collective — and in the ways photography can make invisible experiences visible.
Working across analogue and contemporary photographic processes, Weidle combines staged photography, found images, double exposure and experimentation. Chance and unexpected results often become an essential part of her creative process.
Her projects are personal, but their themes extend beyond individual experience. Through photography, she creates spaces in which questions of identity, the body, memory and change can be considered from different perspectives.
Anna Weidle’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in publications and photography festivals in Europe, the United States and Japan.
